Critical Illness Insurance
You can protect yourself from the unexpected costs of a serious illness. Even the most generous medical plan does not cover all of the expenses of a serious medical condition like a heart attack or cancer. Critical Illness Insurance, from Reliance Standard, pays a full lump sum benefit directly to you if you are diagnosed with a covered illness (Note: diagnosis of critical illness must take place after the coverage effective date). The benefit is paid in addition to any other insurance coverage you may have. This benefit is voluntary and paid through convenient payroll deductions.

You choose the benefit amount when you enroll – up to $40,000 (in $10,000 increments).

Coverage is offered on a Guarantee Issue basis. No medical questions are asked and employees and their dependents will qualify regardless of medical history.

Critical Illness Insurance is a limited benefit policy. This is not health insurance and does not satisfy the requirement of minimum essential coverage under the Affordable Care Act.
Examples of covered illness include:
-
